The Introductory Consultation
The Introductory Consultation provides an opportunity to assess the overall situation and for us to suggest the most appropriate course of action. During the course of the Introductory Consultation we may ask the student to complete a vocational guidance questionnaire or psychometric test. The test results help us to advise on future schools/colleges, courses and possible careers. Following the initial meeting a comprehensive letter of recommendation is presented detailing the points discussed, giving any test results and making suggestions for the future.

Prior to the consultation we ask the student to provide as much documentary evidence relevant to the situation as possible. This would include a recent curriculum vitae or completion of our own pro-forma career questionnaire. If any psychometric test/questionnaire has recently been completed then the results and report are especially valuable.

We are able to offer advice on a range of educational and careers possibilities including:-

Secondary Education
* Choice of Secondary School in the UK
* Choice of Secondary School Overseas (Especially Europe and USA)
* Choice of 'A'- Levels or other Advanced Academic or Vocational Studies

Further and Higher Education
* Choice of Tutorial College and advice on Revision and Retake Courses
* Advice on Summer and Gap Year Opportunities
* Choice of University/College and Degree Course Selection
* Preparation for Oxbridge Entrance

Career Planning
* Interview Techniques
* Vocational Guidance Testing
* Curriculum Vitae Preparation
* Milkround and Job Search Techniques

If further help and advice is required then this is offered as follows:-

Additional Advisory Sessions - This is the most appropriate where only limited assistance is required or the extent of counselling is yet to be decided.

An Agreed Package of Consultation - This may also include testing and assessment, access to educational/careers research materials, counselling and formal advice in written form. Materials and Secretarial Services can also be provided.

Educational Guardianship - This is the most efficient and cost-effective option where there is a need for an extended series of counselling sessions. The student is given unlimited access to research materials and an agreed series of counselling sessions with specific objectives. Such ongoing advice and assistance may be necessary in preparation for University Entrance.
